Imaging Q&A

What is imaging?

Imaging is a simple, noninvasive way for doctors to see inside your body. At 360 Orthopedics, we use imaging to help diagnose the cause of your symptoms. We offer X-rays in-office and refer you for MRIs or CT scans when needed.

What are X-rays?

X-rays use a small amount of radiation to create images of your bones and other tissues. Dense materials like bone show up white, while softer tissues appear in shades of gray or black. This helps your doctor spot fractures, joint problems, and other issues.

What is an MRI?

An MRI is a detailed scan that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create images of your body. It helps doctors diagnose a wide range of issues, including chronic conditions and injuries affecting bones, muscles, and joints. Please note: 360 Orthopedics does not perform MRIs in-office, but we can refer you to a facility for this service.

Why would I need imaging?

Your doctor may recommend imaging if you have symptoms like pain or injury in your hands, wrists, knees, hips, shoulders, spine, or feet. Imaging helps us understand the problem and guide your treatment.

Conditions and symptoms that may benefit from imaging at 360 Orthopedics include:

  • Hand, wrist, and elbow pain
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Neck and spine pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Foot and ankle injuries

At 360 Orthopedics, we use digital X-rays, so the images are ready immediately and can be easily shared with other doctors. You can also get a digital copy for yourself.
